This Evening Primrose Oil dog shampoo is a mild, gentle but effective frequent-use formula suitable for all breeds. The nourishing shampoo helps to improve coat condition, while the 1% pure, cold-pressed evening primrose oil soothes dry, flaky, sensitive skin. This product can be applied neat, with an adequate amount of warm water to disperse the shampoo throughout the coat, but we recommend diluting the product if you are a professional groomer to get the most out of the shampoo. When possible, allow the animal to stand in the product for a couple of minutes for optimum absorption of the essential oils.

Originally from North America, Evening Primrose Oil (EPO) was once known as ""King's Cure-All"". This naturally-derived oil has amazing healing and moisturising properties and contains a high concentration of fatty acids and Omega 3, which both boost skin and hair renewal. That makes Groomers Evening Primrose Oil Shampoo great for animals with a range of skin conditions, from dandruff and itchiness to alopecia. Studies have shown that EPO has a significantly beneficial effect when used for allergy conditions, and dull coats with excessive moulting.

Love this, smell is lovely too. It says use neat. I found putting it straight onto dry coat gets to the skin better, but you need to water water down to do, this I tried 50/50 but much too soapy so I'll try 25/75 next time.

I have been using every month on my 4 year old standard poodle since he was a puppy.

Wouldn’t use any other shampoo it works for all dog coats and my customers are happy with results. The 3% EPO shampoo is brilliant for problem skin conditions and I’ve seen it work after only 1 or 2 shampoos.

I have been using Groomers Evening Primrose Oil Shampoo for a number of years. What I have had previously was 25)ml and I don't remember is saying what percentage of primrose oil it contained. I have not yet used the ne recently purchase as I will not be having my dog clipped until the end of May and this is when the new 1% will be used.

This is a good shampoo, I have bought it before and will buy again, although my dogs have no skin problems and I can not say if it really does what it claims. For a healthy skin dog - it is good, leaves the coat shiny and soft, slightly fragranced. Having said so, the packaging is not that good, my shampoo bottle arrived with a cap opened (the top part of the cap detached from the main body, leaving the bottle open) and shampoo everywhere around in the plastic bag. It was not a big loss, so I decided not to complain. But for the future, it may be a good idea to put a piece of tape around the cap to prevent this top part from detachment while in transportation.

The Best Shampoo For All Coat Types

As a dog groomer i use this shampoo on a large majority of our dogs as it's brilliant, it's safe on dogs with delicate skin and helps reduce irritation. I recommend this shampoo to everyone. The product arrived early and very well packed. The only dog coat I wouldn't use this shampoo on would be those with greasy coats unless you use a degreasing shampoo first then follow up with this one to help soothe the skin . - Amazon Review

Great Shampoo

This shampoo is absolutely brilliant. I have been showing dogs for 30 years and spent a lot of money on shampoos. This product is as good as any which I purchased at a very high price. I read another review and decided to purchase this shampoo and I most certainly am not disappointed. I gave some to a friend who's dog was scratching and loosing hair and after one wash it stopped. As part of our commitment we offer a fast, efficient delivery service. Orders received by 12pm Monday to Friday will normally be shipped the same day. UK Mainland orders over £85 will be delivered free of charge.

Any delivery to the Scottish Highlands, Northern Ireland and offshore islands may be subject to a surcharge.

Large, heavy, equipment items such as tables and baths are dispatched via a specialist carrier. Please note that pallets will be delivered curbside. Please make sure you have the correct assistance to bring your product into your premises.

We politely ask you to notify us of any errors in your order within seven days of receipt so they can be rectified promptly.

Please note that orders placed online on Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays, when we are closed, will be dispatched the next working day.

UK Mainland Standard Delivery 

Orders over £85 will be shipped free of charge. Orders less than £85 will be charged at the following rate:

Small items posted as a large letter such as single blades, attachment combs etc. £1.95

251-500g: £3.65

501-750g: £3.95

701-1kg: £4.40

1.01kg-2kg: £6.70

2kg+: £6.87

Note that our UK Mainland Standard Delivery is limited to a maximum of 5 litres of liquid per shipment.

Express Delivery

PLEASE NOTE: We have temporarily suspended our Express Delivery service until further notice. The recent changes in Covid Tier restrictions has impacted many delivery services which currently cannot be guaranteed for next working day delivery. We will resume our Express Delivery service as soon as it is possible.


UK Offshore Standard Delivery

Deliveries to UK offshore addresses (including NI, ROI, Highlands and Islands) are charged at individual rates in line with prices from Royal Mail. These are available at the time of ordering and will feature on-line at the basket checkout.


EU Delivery

Due to documentation changes following Brexit, we are temporarily suspending supply of Groomers products to Europe until further notice.

Distance Selling Regulations 

Online, mail and telephone order customers have the right to cancel their order for a limited time even if the goods aren’t faulty. We will offer a refund to customers if you have notified us in writing within 14 days of receipt that you wish to cancel your order. Cancelled goods must be returned to Groomers Limited within a further 14 days after we have been notified. We will refund customers within 14 days of receiving the goods back.

No reason for return is required.

Please note that you will be responsible for the cost of returning the goods to us unless we delivered the item to you in error or the item is faulty.

Your unwanted item must be in a re-saleable condition and in the original, undamaged, unopened product packaging with any labels still attached.

We recommend you keep the original packaging and wrap the return item well to avoid damage in transit. Please remember the packaging of the item is the responsibility of the sender, not the courier and Groomers Limited. We reserve the right to deduct a percentage of the refund or credit if an item is received unsuitable for re-sale as new. This will be assessed once the product is received.

If you are returning a large item such as a table, bath or cabinet, the item will need to be packaged safely on a pallet, this will be required by the courier for collection and return. If payment is required the cost is from £45.00 per pallet.

Please be aware that the following items are non-returnable:

  • Goods made to order
  • Sealed media such as DVDs and CDs
  • Gift vouchers

Any returns or exchanges on items purchased at events or shows will attract a standard delivery charge.

Please remember to include a Groomers Return Form which you can download from our website or, if you prefer, a covering letter including your full name, address and contact telephone number so we know who the package is from. We will need to contact you to arrange payment or a refund.

Although this is a rare occurrence, we highly recommend using recorded post so that you can track your package should it go astray.

Please allow 3-5 working days for the payment to reach your debit or credit card as standard. We can only refund any amount due on the card used for original payment.

Returning Small Items by Royal Mail

If you are returning a small item by post (packet), please ensure the item is unused, and in its original, undamaged packaging. We will need to resell the item so please ensure it is returned in the way that you would like to receive it. To avoid damages in transit, please wrap the item well, preferably in bubble wrap, and then use a strong box or jiffy bag to send the item. Don’t forget to include your Groomers Returns Form or a covering letter including your full address and telephone number so that we know who the package is from. We also recommend recorded post so that you can track your package, should it go astray. 

Returning Large Items by Postal Service or Courier: 

If you are returning a large item (2kg+) for a refund or credit note, please ensure the item is unused, and in its original, undamaged packaging. We will need to resell the item so please ensure it is returned in the way that you would like to receive it. If the item is sold in an item specific box- e.g. dog cage, please ensure that no address labels or sender details are stuck onto this box. Please put the item in an outer box or wrap in black plastic/cellophane for stamps or courier labels. Please remember that packing an item for return is the responsibility of the sender, not of the courier. The item will need to reach us undamaged for us to be able to give you a full refund or exchange, so please package well for transit. Don’t forget to include your Groomers Returns Form or a covering letter including your full address and telephone number so that we know who the package is from. Again, we also recommend using recorded post or courier service so that you can track your package, should it go astray.

Pre-Loved Items

Items have a 7 day cooling off period and so can be returned for a full refund in the same condition as they were bought. Postage will be paid by the purchaser.
