Groomers Team Riders – Abigail Newbery’s Diary

It took us 5 hours to get to Cornwall on Wednesday, but eventually we got there safe and sound. For this event we just took Olympia and Fleur, my two beautiful chestnut mares. It was Fleur’s first county show, but she took it all in her stride coming 6th in the 1.25m on the first day despite the 70mph gales and relatively heavy rain!


The Appleby Horse Fair 2012

The famous Appleby Horse Fair is set to return to the small Cumbrian town once again this week from the 7th – 13th June. In light of this event, motorists in the Teesdale area should be particularly wary of horses or horse-drawn vehicles on the roads.

Groomers Team News with Showjumper Abigail Newbery

*Wales and West – David Broome Event Centre – Wales, 3rd – 7th May 2012* I took 3 horses to this show, Olympia III, Valentino VII and Fleur Van Overis. The beginning of the season has flown past and now we are just a week off Badminton! It always comes up quickly, but having said that we have been gearing up for it for months! Happy Times has started the season off well - I've just been giving him some quiet runs to prepare him and he's put up some good performances. I have been working hard at home on his dressage with our Aussie team dressage coach Brett Parbery, and with Charlotte Dujardin.
