How to get the most out of your Crufts experience!
With Crufts 2020 just around the corner we wanted to help everyone get the most out of their Crufts visit, in this blog we wanted to give you the best ways to see all the exciting things Crufts has to offer and how to ensure you don’t miss out. With the many years of experience we have as a Groomers family at Crufts we thought we should share some of that knowledge with you all so you can get the most out of your Crufts visit.
The dog days for 2020 are:
- Day 1: Toy Dogs
- Day 2: Gun Dogs
- Day 3: Working Dogs
- Day 4: Terriers
Plan your days
Doing some research can make a world of difference when it comes to Crufts, there are many ways to do this from social media to online articles about previous years. It’s clear that no matter which day you go there will always be huge amounts to see and do, and with so much it can be hard to find time to get to see all you hope for.
To get the best experience in just one day it is best to get there early and make a time plan around the events you really want to see or you may regret missing out. You can do this easily by checking out the ‘what’s on’ pages on the Crufts website: https://www.crufts.org.uk/whats-on/. However, if you can make it to more than one day it is definitely worth doing so as there are always plenty of daily offers and great unique viewing experiences in the arenas with different categories.
Our very own Hannah, who has been to Crufts with us for many years now, says “it’s a busy environment with lots going on, I would recommend comfortable shoes to enable them to visit all the halls. Hydration is key so bring water and get ready to meet thousands of our canine friends”. With hundreds of food and beverage carts throughout the venue it is best to stop for water and food breaks whenever you can.
Now onto the reason we all love Crufts… the dog events; with 6 main arenas at Crufts displaying all events from showing and obedience to flyball and agility, it is a great opportunity to experience it all. However, with so much going on it’s hard to know where to put yourself and which events to see.
Some of the main events include:
- Flyball teams
- Group judging
- Inter-Regional Rally Competition
- Youth handling (6 -24 years)
- Displays of – scent work, award, puppy foundation, parkour, good citizen
If you prefer to walk around or can’t get into the event there are plenty of other ways to watch, Crufts themselves streaming the action from the main arena on their YouTube channel and streaming from the Obedience ring on their Facebook. As well as Channel 4’s Crufts show every day with the main events on there is no need to miss out.
Stall visits – how to grab a bargain!
There is always a huge variety of shopping stalls at Crufts; from training and education to grooming and clothing. These stalls offer a great variety for your perusal with many having great Crufts exclusive offers and giveaways.
To make sure you don’t miss out you should look out for deals on each day! Don’t be shy to ask questions at the stalls about the deals of the day and rest of the week and try to follow some of the brands you want to visit on social media, which is where they may post about their offers. By doing this you won’t have to scout up and down the exhibition halls hoping to find the deal you want.
If you are interested in grooming products then you should check out the larger trading stalls as many have demonstrations, experts and tools on display to see and feel which you like. This year our stall will be full of exclusive deals, limited edition products, demos and experts to answer any of your grooming questions.
But most of all…. Enjoy!
No matter where you decide to spend your time, the most important thing is to enjoy your Crufts experience. And if you do miss an event don’t forget you can catch up on them on All4.
We will be in Hall 5 Stand 126, come see us and check out new products including new products from leading groomer professionals, brand offers and a new limited edition product launching on the Thursday!
