Firework Focus – Keeping Dogs Calm

It’s getting close to that time of year where there are firework displays, crowded events and changes in the home dynamic.

For some pets, this can be a very stressful time, so ensuring that you and your customers are prepared is of the utmost importance.

Here are 3 ways you can be prepared:

  1. Ensure you buy calming products so that you can sell them on to customers. Care for animals after their grooming session by supplying owners with the items they need in a retail section of your salon. That can definitely include calming products, especially around this time of year. This also is a great way to boost your income.
  2. Buy something for your salon. Some pets who are particularly nervous may be on edge the day after a firework display, so it will help to use a diffuser or atomiser, such as the products by Pet Remedy, just to help reassure them that your salon is a safe place to be.
  3. Ensure each customer is aware of how they can keep their pets calm, and if you’re not sure, read up so you can be set with helpful advice.

I always have problems with my dog in that time of year. My furbaby is so scared, he would shake and bark for hours so I am afraid to leave him alone on New Year’s eve.
