LKA General Championship Dog Show 2014
This ladies only kennel club was founded by Alice Stannard Robinson in 1894 for women interested in breeding and showing dogs and is still a successful group to this day. The General Championship Dog Show is a two day events judging over 150 breeds in the 7 classes. It includes stakes for dogs of all ages and is a qualifying show for Crufts 2015 and the Dog Show Pup of the Year Competition, Trophies, rosettes and certificates will be awarded to winners and runners up.
The event will be held at the NEC Birmingham in Halls 6, 17,18,19 and 20 and will be held on the 13th and 14th of December, from 8am to 7pm on Saturday and 6pm on Sunday. Judging will take place in 40 rings throughout on each day, with the Best In Show being announced late on the second day. On the Saturday, competitions will be held for the Toy, Utility, Pastoral and Working groups while on the Sunday competitions with be held for the Terrier, Gundog and Hound groups. On both days there will be stakes held for puppies, juniors, graduates, beginners, veterans, champions and an open stake. Classes will also be held for the junior handling association and the good citizen dog scheme.
Tickets are available at the door for anyone wishing to watch the show, as it is public. Adults cost £8 while Children and OAPs are £4. There is ample opportunity to shop, with over 60 trade stands to browse this year.
